Dear Employer:
America serves as an example to the whole world that only the Rule of Law, with no exceptions to the law, provides us with a peaceful, equitable nation. Laws are to be obeyed until/unless they are changed by our governing bodies.
Hiring undocumented workers is breaking the law. Business owners who are not verifying the legality of identity documents such as social security cards, matricula consular cards and driver’s licenses; failing to pay worker’s comp., withholding FICA, state & federal withholding payments are breaking laws.
For that reason, enclosed is a copy of Federal Law Section 8 USC regulating immigration entry and identifying as felons any person, business or organization who “…assists an alien s/he should reasonably know is illegally in the U. S. or who lacks employment authorization, by transporting, sheltering, or assisting him or her to obtain employment….”
There is now a way for employers to verify that potential employees have a legal right to work in the US. For details, please visit http://www.ssa.gov/employer/ssnv.htm and call the toll free number 1-800-772-6270 to verify Social Security Numbers of job applicants or current workers.
